THIS will be my Nanowrimo novel!




I changed the title (Love & War was it, but it was a bit too cliched... lol), and I really like how the art turned out. And I already have so damn much research done for this one... plus I alreayd know exactly where it's going...

So, yeah... WWII AU Ryan/Summer is my NaNoWriMo project...

Edit: I meant to say this last night when I posted this... Summer is a manip of Kate Beckinsale (Sp?) in "Pearl Harbor", Ryan is a pic of Ben from "Johnny Got His Gun", and the texture image is a WWII era photograph.

But I've found some great material for my World War II AU story...

I'm sure you guys aren't counting on absolute accuracy, and won't mind if I use a little creative liscense (if I was publishing a professional novel, I'd make it perfect, but... this IS fanfic for god's sake... lol...) The problem is, one of the things I really want to use, I discovered by accident and there is VERY little info out there about the real life place/incident... I don't wanna give details because it's major spoilers for the fic, but... lol... it's frustrating to know it existed, it happened, but there's next to nothing about it in the resources I've checked (which include the University library that I work right next door to... lol...)

Anyway, I HAVEN'T forgotten this project AT ALL... lol... I swear! It's still on my mind! lol...

I'm like... totally stunned... I made a request on a music community for any 40's music (to use as inspiration for my World War II AU) people had, expecting to maybe get one or two songs, but it turns out it wasn't such an obscure request because people have provided a LOT of stuff! Some of it's from a bit later (50's and 60's) but a LOT is from 1945 and earlier, which is perfect... I've been researching and putting the year of the song into the file name so that I can make sure I don't specifically mention a song that wouldn't have been in existance yet... lol...

I'm planning on making at least one, maybe 2 soundtracks for the fic... Like I'm thinking a 2 disc set, with seperate covers for each disc... Disc 1 will be World War II era songs (some of them covered by more recent artists, but... lol...) with art of real life pictures/propaganda posters/etc on the cover... Disc 2 will be more modern songs that fit the feel of the story...

Anyway... I'm totally in love with this fic idea... lol... World War II Ryan/Summer rocks! lol
