Sorry this one is late today was... crazy.

I work the front desk at a motel, but I had today off and went into the nearest big town to do some final Christmas shopping. I'm in line to check out at a crafts store when my phone rings... it's one of the maids at the motel, telling me that a guest DIED in a room the night before. All 3 maids are unable to clean the room for religious reasons, so guess who gets to spend her other day off, the day before she works from 9am to 10pm (on Tuesday), steam cleaning a room where a guy died? If you guessed me, you're right! Good news is, my boss feels bad for asking me, so she's giving me an extra $50 on top of my regularly hourly pay for however long it takes... but I stopped by the motel to get an idea of the situation (the body was removed already), and it smells BAD... so... ugh...

More Mercy!Verse! This one takes place after Ryan has been with NCIS for a while, and specifically as Gregorio is joining the team to investigate Pride and the team. Some joking around about Gregorio's profiling abilities leads to some heartache for Ryan when Sarah gets brought up.

Since it mentions Sarah's death, I need to warn for rape and murder. The title will make sense by the end.

Anther day, another gift! This one is more of my 'verse were Bucky Barnes, on the run after the events of 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', happened to meet Ryan Atwood, on the run from Hydra, and they teamed up to kick hydra ass.

( Gift #15 - Connections (Ryan & Bucky Verse) )

So, my Mercy!Verse is an AU where Ryan ended up in Juvie (when really he shouldn't have been), and he suffered severe sexual abuse there. He eventually got out with the help of his arresting officer, John Cooper (from Southland) who wound up adopting him. Cooper lived in the school district for West Beverley Hills High (90210), so those are Ryan's high school classmates, and he became best friends with Silver. This shows some key moments of their friendship.

Mercy!Verse plays with timelines quite a bit. Ryan went to Juvie at 14 and got out at 15, which was just before the 1st season of 90210 started. So if you watched 90210, just imagine Ryan was there the whole time, making friends with Silver and truly appreciating her for her how awesome she really is.

So, 2 years ago, I skipped 24 Gifts, except for a single gift on December 23rd. That gift, titled 'Remind Me', was a The OC/Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover, were Bucky Barnes (AKA the Winter Soldier) was on the run after the events of 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', and he met Ryan, who Hydra was after. This is a continuation of that fic.

It features google translate Russian, so probably WAY off, but... yeah.

This takes place a few years after the previous one in this verse, 'Befores & Afters'. Ryan has had custody of Jake ever since he made the deal with Julie allowing her visitations with Jake if she didn't fight him for custody. This one... god, I started to cry writing it because the idea of the pain Ryan is in... but don't worry, there's a happy ending.

Another continuation of a long ago fic that never got continued... in this one, I transplanted the Atwoods to Hawaii, where Frank was basically running a cartel type gig. 5-O (from Hawaii 5-O) busted him and Ryan agreed to testify and tell everything he knew, but he mentioned they better record it, because he doubts he'll live long enough to testify, Frank will have him killed. So McGarrett took Ryan home with him to keep him safe and hidden.

A long time ago, I wrote a fic I called Controlling Cohens, where the Cohens were an abusive level of controlling, and Ryan basically disappeared to try and escape them, winding up going to college on the east coast and meeting Professor Rodney McKay (Stargate: Atlantis), who had left the Stargate Program, and took a liking to Ryan. This is a continuation.

Zoe Carter (Eureka) is also featured in this as Ryan's closest friend at college, and the bane of McKay's existence.

So... a long time ago, I wrote a little apocafic called 'With A Whimper', where Ryan led a group of survivors in a sorta zombie-ish apocalypse, and he was all bad ass and constantly on the verge of a nervous breakdown due to the stress, but he protected his people. This is a bit of a future snippet to it, taking place ten years after Ryan and the others made Alcatraz Island their home. It adds several more fandoms to the crossover, most of them just brief mentions, and I'll list all involved fandoms after the fic. Just know, Ryan remains bad ass.

As an aside, it sort of pains me to write Zach as a bad guy because I really do love him in canon... but he is an evil little piece of slime in this 'verse... lol

I've mentioned this idea before. Frank returns to his old ways and becomes abusive towards he and Julie's son, Jake. Julie chooses 'love' over her child and Ryan is not having it, so he files for custody of his little brother.

It's that time of the year again! Everyday from December 1st to December 24th there will be a gift here. These gifts could be fanfic, fanart, a fanmix, just about anything. They are almost always 'The OC' related and Ryan Atwood centric (Although he sometimes has a radically different life). Usually I friendslock the gifts until the 24th, but since not everyone from LJ has friended me on here, I'm leaving them unlocked this year.

This first gift is from my fairly new 'Lay Bare Your Heart' Verse, where Ryan is a single dad to his daughter Lucy, and he happens to be bisexual. This little gift takes place when Ryan is in his early 20'a (meaning Lucy is about 5 or 6), and deals with Sandy not approving of his choice of date to a party, though only Ryan and Summer are actually in the fic. As a reminder, Ryan and Summer are, and will only be, friends in this 'verse. Best friends, but just friends.
