Okay, so I should have posted this Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, but... whatever... I only just found it again, so consider it a late thing... lol...

It's strongly LL2, with Cameron having a big part in it too... it's cute and funny and kinda dramatic sometimes, too... lol

Merry Little Christmases
By Mara (Written for Riley in 2004)

Christmas 2004

Elizabeth was sitting with Cameron on the floor, pointing out all the ornaments she'd gotten for their first Christmas together, when there was a knock on the door. She stood and placed Cameron down in his playpen before peeking out the peephole and smiling. She unlocked the door and stepped aside to let her visitor in. "What are you doing here on Christmas morning?"

Lucky Spencer set down the large box he was carrying and smiled as Elizabeth reached over to brush snow off the top of his head. "I didn't get the chance to give you and Cam your presents," he replied.

"They could wait, you should be with your dad, or Lulu and Lesley," Elizabeth said, helping Lucky pull of his jacket and hanging it up. "Now you're almost frozen solid."

"I already went over to see Lu and my grandma," Lucky said. "And I saw Dad there before he headed back to The Haunted Star for Christmas with Skye. So I figured coming by to see you two was better than sitting alone at Kelly's all day. But if I'm not welcome, I guess I could find something to eat in the kitchen at Kelly's..." Lucky continued, reaching for his jacket as though he was going to leave.

Elizabeth moved between him and the door. "Drop the jacket and sit down in front of the tree," she ordered, smiling. "What'd you get us?"

"You'll have to open to see," Lucky said, going over and picking Cameron up. "Hey Cam," he said, lightly kissing the side of the baby's head. "Look at that beautiful tree your mommy got you guys," he continued, carrying the baby over. "Of course, we shouldn't be surprised it look so beautiful, your mommy is an expert at tree decorating. She once found the perfect topper for a tree of mine."

"The silver guitar," Elizabeth said, smiling at the memory. "That seems like forever ago."

"It was," Lucky agreed. "We were just kids. I think we've officially become grown ups now."

"We were grown ups then, Lucky," Elizabeth said. "After all we'd been through? I think you were as grown up as you could get the day we met."

"I remember that day," Lucky said, laughing. "The little tight black tank and the little black shorts?"

"The spiked hair, the plaid shirt, and the beaded bracelet?" Elizabeth countered, coming closer and leaning against Lucky's shoulder while she watched him hold her son and point at the ornaments. "You know, I went home that day and drew our names in a heart."

"You're kidding?"

Elizabeth shook her head. "It was love at first sight. Why do you think I kept trying to make Sarah look bad? I thought maybe if she looked worse than me, you'd love me."

"You were always better than her," Lucky said. "I was just a stupid kid who couldn't see it. I'm not anymore."

Elizabeth tilted her head to look up at him, and smiled at the soft look on his face. "Oh yeah?" she asked.

Lucky slowly lowered his lips to Elizabeth's, kissing her softly. He shifted his hold on Cameron and wrapped his free arm around Elizabeth, holding her close even as one of her arms snaked up around his neck and shoulders. After a moment, Cameron gurgled slightly and they adults pulled apart, both turning their attention to the baby, who seemed to be smiling as he rested his head against Lucky's shoulder, one tiny hand playing with the button of Lucky's shirt. "Hey, Mr. Cam," Lucky whispered. "You wanna see what I brought you and your mommy?"

"Presents!" Elizabeth said, turning to the box Lucky had brought. She was grateful for the distraction, not sure what the kiss meant between them.

"You take the little guy here and I'll bring them over," Lucky said, carefully passing Cameron to his mother. "The box is kinda heavy."

"Ooh... does that mean they're big presents?" Elizabeth asked, sitting down beside the presents she had piled under the tree and placing Cameron in her lap as she waited for Lucky to join them.

"Maybe," Lucky replied, sitting down in front of Elizabeth and Cameron. He lifted a brightly colored gift bag out of the box and set it down in front of them, smiling.

"For Cam," he said.

"He can't open his own yet so..." Elizabeth urged.

Lucky laughed and gently moved aside the tissue paper inside the bag, and pulled out a stuffed animal. It was a little dog, with a dark brown body and light brown snout, ears, and paws. "Here you go, Cam," he said, holding out the stuffed animal and watching Cameron's eyes light up as he grabbed it.

"I think he likes it," Elizabeth said as the baby clutched it to his chest.

"I think so," Lucky replied. He leaned forward to kiss the top of Cameron's head. "Merry Christmas," he said.

Christmas 2006

Elizabeth smiled as she set Cameron down to play with the toy train that ran around the tree, then checked her reflection in the mirror that hung in the hall. Lucky would be there any minute with the presents, and she intended on, like the last 2 years, finding excuses for him to stick around for a few hours. There was a knock on the door just as the clock switched to saying 7:00 am, and Elizabeth hurried over, smoothing her shirt one more time before opening the door and smiling widely. "Merry Christmas!" she said cheerfully.

Lucky returned the smile and walked in with his box full of wrapped presents. "Merry Christmas," he replied. He set down the box and immediately headed over to Cameron, who held his arms up to be lifted. "Hey there, Cam," he greeted, scooping the toddler up. "You ready for presents?"

"Presents!" Cameron cheered, clapping.

"I'll take that as a yes," Lucky said. "But this year your mommy gets to open one first."

"I can wait..." Elizabeth started.

"Well, I can't," Lucky said. He reached into the box and pulled out a small square box wrapped in a blue paper with white snowflakes on it. He gave it to Elizabeth and watched her anxiously. "Go on, open it," he instructed.

Elizabeth carefully unwrapped the box, revealing what looked like a ring box. She slowly opened it and gasped before looking back up at Lucky. "Is this...?" she asked.

"Merry Christmas," Lucky said, smiling.

Elizabeth slowly pulled the delicate diamond ring out of the box and stared at it in her hand. "Lucky..." she whispered, looking back up at him.

"I'm with you guys every holiday and at least 75% of the rest of the year," Lucky said. "I lost you once because I couldn't... I wasn't able to feel how I felt anymore. I love you, Elizabeth, deep down I never stopped, I just couldn't feel it for a while. And by the time I could... you'd moved on. But... I don't want to lose you again."

"You never really lost me, Lucky," Elizabeth said. She leaned forward and kissed him, then pulled back and held up the ring. "Put it on my finger?" she asked.

Lucky smiled and shifted his grip on Cameron so he could take the ring and slide it on. "So... is that a yes?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Yes, it's a yes," she said, kissing him again. Then she pushed her hair behind her ear and looked at the two men who meant everything to her.

Lucky smiled and looked down at Cameron. "Hey, you hear that? You're mommy said yes! That means I'll be with you guys a lot more. And if it's okay with your mommy maybe I can be your daddy..."

"You already are," Elizabeth said. "Lucky, you're the closest thing to a daddy that he's ever known. He loves you."

"Well, I love him too," Lucky said, kissing the top of the toddler's head. "We're gonna be a family," he whispered softly.

"Merry Christmas, Lucky," Elizabeth said.

"Merry Christmas," Lucky replied, kissing her again.

Christmas 2008

"Lucky!" a blindfolded Elizabeth said, giggling as he and Cameron, now almost 4 years-old, led her up a short set of steps. "Can I take this off yet?"

"Just a minute," Lucky said, opening a door and ushering her inside. He closed the door and left her side for a just a moment before returning and untying the blindfold. "Take a look," he said.

Elizabeth opened her eyes and was met by the sight of the living room of the house they had just bought. But instead of the empty room she had seen just 2 days before, there was a Christmas wonderland, complete with a large tree, fully decorated, and garlands around the staircase railing and over the fireplace. "Lucky!" she said in awe. "How did you...?" she asked, turning to look at him.

"Grandpa Luke and Grandma Skye did it last night!" Cameron said excitedly. "But me and Daddy told them exactly how it should look! Do you like it, Mommy?"

"I love it!" Elizabeth said, dropping down to hug her son. "It's wonderful."

"I thought we shouldn't wait to celebrate Christmas in our house," Lucky said.

"You're amazing," Elizabeth said, standing again to throw her arms around her husband and kiss him. "This is perfect!"

"Can I show Mommy the village, Daddy?" Cameron asked.

"Go ahead," Lucky said.

"Village?" Elizabeth asked even as Cameron pulled her into the dining room. "Oh!" she said.

Lucky followed behind them and found Elizabeth inspecting the miniature village that had been set up on a large oak table. "Believe it or not, the table's from Edward Quatermaine, housewarming gift."

Elizabeth looked up, her expression nothing short of wonder and joy. "It's beautiful! Did Luke and Skye do this too?"

Lucky shook his head. "I did this night before last," he said. "I wasn't working late. Take a closer look, anything look familiar?"

Elizabeth looked again and realized what he meant. There was a little Diner that's sign had been repainted to read 'Kelly's', and there were the docks, complete with a miniature Haunted Star docked. And, over near the edge of the table, there was a boxcar sitting by itself among trees. "It's Port Charles," she whispered.

"You like it?" Lucky asked.

Elizabeth replied by giving him another kiss then going back to the village to look for other familiar sights. It only took her a moment to spot a little white house with a pink caddy parked in front, and another house that had a pair of figures sitting on the roof outside an upstairs window, and Metro Court, complete with it's rooftop helicopter pad, was near the center of town. Everywhere that meant anything special to them was there. "It's perfect," she said.

"Merry Christmas, Mommy," Cameron said, smiling.

"Merry Christmas," Elizabeth replied, hugging her son and smiling at Lucky, who returned the smile as he leaned against the door frame.

Christmas 2010

"Where's daddy?" the 5 and 3/4 year-old, as he was always quick to tell people he was ALMOST 6, Cameron asked, staring up at his very pregnant and obviously worried mother.

Elizabeth tried to smile and reassure her son, but she herself was terrified. "I'm sure he'll be home any minute," she finally said, walking back over to the window again and peering out. Lucky had been called into work late the night before, something about a major case he'd been working on, but he'd promised to be home in time to open presents. But here it was, almost 8:00 am, and Lucky was nowhere to be seen. "Where are you?" she whispered.

She heard the TV come on, but didn't turn, knowing that Cameron had just gotten bored waiting and decided to try and find cartoons. But her son's sudden cry made her turn and hurry over. "What's wrong?" she asked, looking at the screen and gasping, her hand going to her mouth as she saw the reporter on the docks, talking about a shoot out between police and a suspected drug cartel in the early hours of the morning. The reporter said 2 police officers were dead, but she didn't have information on their names and Elizabeth felt a stab of fear.

"Is it daddy?" Cameron asked, looking up at his mom fearfully.

"I don't know," Elizabeth replied, sitting on the couch beside her son and pulling him close.

"Mommy!" Cameron said, pointing at the flashing lights outside the window.

Elizabeth felt her heart stop as she saw a shadow coming up the walk. "Oh God no," she whispered.

Then the door flew open and Lucky walked in, shaking snow off his head and shoulders and smiling widely at his family. "Hey, sorry I'm late," he said.

"Daddy!" Cameron yelled, jumping off the couch to run to his dad.

Lucky scooped his son up and hugged him tight. "Merry Christmas, Cam," he said. "Did you guys already open presents?"

Cameron shook his head. "We were waiting for you!"

"Well now I'm here," Lucky said. "So let's get to it." He set Cameron down again and watched the little boy run to the presents and drop down to start searching through the pile for ones with his name on them. Then Lucky turned to Elizabeth, who had stood to greet him. He walked over and wrapped his arms around her, feeling her melt against him in relief. "Sorry I'm late," he repeated.

"We saw the news," Elizabeth said. "I thought... and when I saw the flashing lights."

"Jackson gave me a ride," Lucky said. "Put on the lights so we could speed."

"They said 2 people..."

"Mac and Murphy," Lucky said, shaking his head sadly. "I couldn't let some stranger tell Georgie, so I went and took care of it. I should have called, but..."

"It's okay," Elizabeth said. "As long as you're okay."

"I'm a lot better now," Lucky assured her, kissing her lightly.

"Come on!" Cameron pleaded, grabbing one fo Lucky's hands and one of Elizabeth's to pull them over to the tree. "It's time for presents!"

Lucky and Elizabeth laughed as they followed him and sank down to sit on the floor. Lucky wrapped an arm around Elizabeth as she leaned against him and kissed the top of her head. "Merry Christmas," he whispered to her.

Christmas 2012

"Wake up! It's Christmas!" the not quite 8 year-old Cameron yelled as he jumped up and down on his parent's bed. "Mommy! Daddy! Wake up! Me and Lanie want to open presents!"

"MOMMY!" 2 year-old Lanie screamed from her crib, forcing Elizabeth to rush to get her while Lucky grabbed Cameron and slung him over his shoulder.

"Daddy! Put me down!" Cameron said, laughing.

"Say the magic word," Lucky replied as they walked into the living room.

"MOMMY!" Cameron yelled, making Lucky laugh as he 'dropped' his son lightly onto the couch.

"Good one," he said, tickling the little boy's sides. "Little brat."

"God you two are way to hyper for 5:00 am," Elizabeth said as she and Lanie entered the living room calmly and quietly.

"Wait till Lanie's old enough to understand the joy of Christmas morning," Lucky said, letting Cameron get up. "She'll be just as bad."

"God help me," Elizabeth said, laughing slightly.

Cameron switched on the stereo and immediately the house was filled with Christmas music. Lucky walked over to his wife and daughter and swept them into his arms, swinging them around before kissing Elizabeth softly. "Love you," he said.

"Love you," Elizabeth replied.

"And I love you, too, Lanie girl," Lucky added, taking his daughter and kissing her forehead. "And your big brother, too," he called to Cameron, who was already engrossed in the presents.

"Love you, too, Daddy," Cameron said. "And you, Mommy."

"Love you too, baby," Elizabeth said.

Lucky set Lanie down beside her brother, who immediately reach out to take his little sister's hand. Then Lucky moved around behind Elizabeth and wrapped his arms around her. "Merry Christmas, Elizabeth," he whispered.

"Merry Christmas, Lucky," Elizabeth replied, smiling as she leaned back against him.

Christmas 2014

Lucky walked out of the interrogation room, disgusted with the man they had brought in for questioning. Over the years, he had become a bigger problem for the PCPD, and now he was keeping Lucky from his family on Christmas. He glanced up at the clock and say it was 5:00 am, just about time for Cameron and Lanie to be waking their mom up to open presents.

"Any luck, Detective?" Officer Mitchell asked.

"None whatsoever," Lucky replied. "Corinthos is stonewalling us."

"You surprised?" Mitchell said. "He IS a mobster."

Lucky shrugged. "I just thought he'd do me this favor and tell us something so I could go home to my family," he said. "Corinthos used to be like family to the Spencers."

"You could let someone else handle the investigation, at least for today. Or put Corinthos on ice in lock up," Mitchell suggested.

Lucky shook his head, "He'll be out of here in no time if I'm not here to keep throwing up walls. We're not gonna lose him again. Elizabeth and the kids'll understand why I can't be home."

"We do, that's why we're here," came Elizabeth's voice.

Lucky turned and smiled as he saw his wife and kids sitting around and on his desk, all smiling. "What are you doing here?" he asked, walking over to kiss Elizabeth and hug Cameron and Lanie. "Not that I'm not thrilled to see you," he added, scooping 4 year-old Lanie up.

"You couldn't be home for Christmas, so we brought Christmas to you, Dad!" the 9 and 3/4 years-old Cameron said. "Are you surprised?"

"Very," Lucky said, smiling from ear to ear. "This is the best Christmas gift ever guys," he said.

"It was all Cameron's idea," Elizabeth said proudly. "He said you shouldn't have to miss Christmas."

Lucky got down on his knees to hug his son again. "Thanks, big guy," he said.

"Hey, I think we've got some Hot Chocolate in the break room," Mitchell said. "How'd you guys like to come help me get some mugs ready for you and your parents?"

"Yeah!" Cameron said, grabbing Lanie's hand and pulling her with him after Mitchell, who turned back to give Lucky and Elizabeth a smile to make it clear he was deliberately giving them a few minutes alone.

"Remind me to make sure to give him a bonus," Lucky said, pulling Elizabeth into his arms and kissing her. "Thank you."

"Merry Christmas, Lucky."

"Merry Christmas," Lucky replied, smiling.

THE END

I'll do a little report on my Christmas and what I got sometime over the next few days... if nothing else than after my brother and sister-in-law come up for New Years and I get my presents from them... lol

I may, for the readers of my The OC fics, post a The OC Chrismukkah fic later... I'm thinking either a bonus scene for Heavily Broken, showing Ryan's Christmas shortly before moving to Newport (In other words, alone, in a rat and roach infested apartment...) or just something fun and fluffy and stand alone...

Later!
