What did you do in 2008 that you had never done before?
Wrote slash and felt like it wasn't crap. Even liked it enough to let the general public see it!

I didn't even full intend to start an entire little slash universe with my Ryan/Jess snippet, it was this little kinda experimental piece to see if I could make them believable as a couple but still keep in character. And now... now I know Ryan is Jess' date to Luke and Lorelai's wedding, and Jess is suitably horrified the first time he meets Che, and they'll adopt some troubled kids and have a ahrd time with them, but they'll make the family work... so much for a little one-shot!

Onto other, vaguely related stuff... I've been reaidng soem Dark Angel fics tonight and... I suddenly got this idea to write an AU that has Ryan as about the same age as the X5's at the time DA took place, and it's Ryan/Alec slash... and really I shouldn't do it, but omfg that hotness... and Ryan not giving a shit that Alec is an X5, Alec liking at Ryan's tough enough to handle the X5 stamina... and omfg I'm gonna end up doing it, I know I am... lol...

( An Odd One )

Okay, so... new fandom for me to write... Dark Angel... it's centered on my favorite DA character (Alec) and the secondary character being by 2nd favorite (Logan), but isn't slash (Though I suppose if you squint and tilt your head you might see it... lol)... Basically: Alec has seizures like Max, but worse thanks to Manticore's attempts to 'fix' the problem. Logan finds Alec in the midst of seizing and tries to offer some comfort. Sort of angsty, sort of fluffy... I see it as the beginning of a real friendship between the two.

Short and there. Rated... I'd say... PG because it alludes to the 'torture' the X5s went through at Manticore. Takes place Post-Season Two, so spoilers for pretty much the entire show, but mostly the last episode of the series... lol

Guess what I found today? My mom and I went to the local flea market, Bart's, and we were perusing the shelves with books in the back, and what do i find? A copy of 'The Outsider', the novelization of the first like 7 eps of The OC (From earlier in the day that Trey took Ryan to steal the car, until Ryan carrying Marissa out of the alley in Tijuana)! And it was only a $1! So obviously, I bought it. Funny thing is, right off the bat it proves a couple of my personal canon things correct! lol... Okay, so the book isn't strictly canon because it didn't air on screen, but still! It's semi-canon! lol

THEN I was checking out other booths and what do I find? The Dark Angel Season 2 DVD set that ahs been there for MONTHS and MONTHS, like since before last Christmas at least, was STILL THERE! And when I opened it up and checked the underside of the discs for scratches? THEY WERE IN PERFECT CONDITION! 20 bucks for perfect condition DVD box set of a show I loved which starred 3 of my favorite people (Jensen Ackles, Jessica Alba, and Michael Weatherly)? Hell yeah I bought it!

I take those two things as a sign about a certain project of mine that a handful of people know about, so I've been working on it today... I'm slowly working out some more details, and I'm getting really excited about it... if you have no idea what I'm talking about... tough... I'm not gonna tell you because I'm limiting who knows about it to people on my friends list. Don't whine or complain or ask, because then I may decide not to ever post it publically on this journal. Deal with it... lol
