missmara13Okay, some good and some bad in the life of Me... lol
Last ngiht mom and I came up with 2 possible plans for today. Either go to Ft. Collins (Like the nearest place with a good sized mall, and it's still like and hour and a half away... lol) or stay in town and do errands.
It was cloudy and yucky this morning, so we didn't want to risk the road trip to Ft. Collins, so we ran errands. All was good on the run out to Wal-Mart (Which is way on the edge of town... there's actually like empty fields between the bulk fo town and Wal-Mart... lol). We bought a wedd whacker, which mom has been tlakign about doing for a while. It's really light weight, 6.5 lbs according to the box, so I can use it even with my bad back (Yes, at 2 months short of 21 I have a bad back... the cause was a fall of about 5 feet when I was like 6 or 7. Couldn't move at all for like an hour I was in so much pain, and even then I juat layed still and cried mostly.)
We also stopped at some garage sales and I got 2 second hand books,a nd this cool pair of boots. Their like a deep blood red type color (I wonder if I could scan a part of the boot to get the color and show off... lol) with like chunky 3 inch heels on them. I can't deal with narrow heels, I wobble too much, but this heel is almost as big across and front to back as it is tall, so all's good. And the side zips up to like mid calf or so. A little tight across the top of my foot, but they were almost BRAND NEW and it's okay to suffer a tiny bit for boots you're totally in love with... lol
Anyway, we come home to drop off Wal-Mart stuff and garage sale buys. I decide to get all cool looking... my new boots, these jeans I got a couple weeks ago but haven't had the chance to wear (Low riders, tight around the upper legs, but flair out at the bottom, and have embroidered flowers on the legs) because I need to wear HEELS with them or the cuffs will drag the ground and get ruined, and this gorgeous white peasant type with an actual drawstring neck and little embroidered flowers at the neck. I looked really good and cool (A little hippy-ish, but I looked REALLY good! lol).
Anyway, I go to leave the house so we can go to the library, and I'm all happy cause I actually feel good about how I look (Instead of my usually kinda slob look of worn baggy jeans and either tiny logo-tees or big baggy tees), so I go to go down the porch steps all quick, and my foot misses the step. I do this alltime in sneakers and normal flat bottom boots, and I catch my balance. But not in heels. So I stumbled and my arm slammed into the porch railing. Then I fell off the edge of the 2nd step and barely managed to keep from slamming into the ground and ruining my jeans the first time I got to wear them! After I caught my balance I started to tell my mom, who'd seen me fall adn was worried, that I was fine. Then I noticed my arm.
Thankfully the skin wasn't broken, if it was I would ahve had blood gushing all over. But it's a really bad abrasion. About 6-8 inches long from right below the palm of my hand to halfway to my elbow, nasty looking bright red lines, and swelling, and it's bruising now. Lots of pain. And it looks monsterous.
But no broken bones, and no gushing blood, so I'll be okay.
Anyway, there's more good here! We got home and checked the mail and my Jessica Simpson CD (In This Skin) FINALLY arrived! There was a problem when my ordered it weeks ago, 2 numbers got transposed, so she re-ordered using the rain check they provided, and it got here today! I'm listening now... but this means I can delete the MP3s of songs from this album that I'd downloaded... lol And the CD came with a DVD extra disc with Nick and Jessica's wedding and scenes from the 1st season of Newlyweds! I can't watch it until we buy a DVD player this coming Christmas (Money may nto be as tight, but still, we like spreaidng out big purchases and mayeb prices on DVD players and DVD/VHS combo players will be lower by then...), but when we get one I can watch! I didn't even know about the extra! lol
