OMFG... new AU Idea?

missmara13So, my mom and I have been watching Umbrella Academy on Netflix (We finished Ep7 tonight, gonna watch the last 3 either tomorrow or next weekend depending on when we have time), and me being me... I kinda wanna do one of my famous multi-fandom crossovers with my favorite characters as the siblings, just gotta figure out who would have what powers and which exact characters I want to include... and how close I'd stick to UA storyline (like do I try to match other characters to the UA character roles exactly? Who's the closest match to Luther/Allison/Diego/Klaus/Five/Ben/Vanya? Or just the vague general premise?)
I have to admit, I do not like Incest fic, BUT I do ship Luthor/Allison... they may be adoptive siblings and raised together, but they always knew they were adopted, and they were raised more like teammates or classmates than siblings because of Hargreaves not being nurturing like... at all...
Anyway... to preface, I love Klaus, Diego, and Ben best of all, Five is right behind them... I love all the siblings, but I adore those ones the best....
I think I wouldn't keep it identical, but...
Imagine Ryan (The OC) as the sibling that is dead, but hangs around and does his best to help still by talking to the sibling that can see the dead? But who would be the drug addicted 'I see dead people' sibling? Not Seth (The OC), I love Klaus too much to give Seth his role...
I can see Brooke (One Tree Hill) as the sibling who can control people by telling them 'I heard a rumor...' then giving the instructions... and regretting it when she used it for less than noble purposes... or Veronica (Riverdale) could fill that role, too...
Can't you see Jess Mariano being the angry guy with the ability to throw knives on curve? Who pretends to jus be angry but fucking loves his siblings? (The second he said it, I told my mom that Diego said the shit about Vanya being a liability to them as a cover for his fear of his 'powerless' sister getting hurt...)
Hard to come up with Luthor, Vanya,Five, and Klaus... although I have one idea for Klaus...
If I'm only keeping to the basic premise, I could move storylines around slightly... instead of the Luthor and Allison analogs being in love, it's the Ben/Klaus analogs... and the Klaus? Connor (How To Get Away With Murder)... Connor's canon personality on HTGAWM has him basically breaking down as the chaos and deaths pile up over the course of the first season, I can see him after losing his brother/person he loves (even if he can still talk to him) turning to drugs to be numb.
Which leaves Luthor, Vanya, and Five... I'm really stumped for who could fill their roles. For Five it's because physically he's younger, but he acts older since he grew up in the apocalypse... With Luthor and Vanya it's in part because compared to the others, I'm pretty... 'eh'... about them... if I give them at least slightly different powers, I might be able to do it...
Five - Stiles (Teen Wolf)? I don't know, but the little angry, obnoxious but loveable guy? screams Stiles at me... I can see him getting angry and proving he can travel to the future only to get stranded... although my favorite murder baby, Tommy/10k (Z Nation) would also work... a combination of naivety (from not getting to properly grow up and mature) and bad ass killer (from physically growing up in the apocalypse...) it could work... and in Z Nation canon, Tommy will do just about anything for his 'family' (the other survivors)...
Vanya - Silver (90210)? Or Callie (The Fosters)? Instead of acoustics based powers (assuming that's it, it seems Vanya's powers are using sound waves...), maybe she can basically make people see things that aren't there? Still incredibly dangerous, but in a different way... Silver used her web show to verbally eviscerate people in the first season of 90210, and Callie is an artist in The Fosters, so... that could sorta fit with either of them...
Luthor - The only one I am 100% stumped on... I've tried to keep 1 character per fandom... but even doubling up on a fandom I'm at a loss for who would be a good Luthor... I wouldn't want to use someone who's wildly out of the age range of the others (characters who, on their shows, were teens into mid 20's or so)... part of my issue is, I am NOT happy about Luthor getting so violent when Klaus refused to help him get high and tried to get him to sober up instead... you don't fucking grab your brother by the throat or throw him across the room!
Any ideas for him? I guess I could basically just... not have him at all? I don't HAVE to have 7 siblings... Or... ok... in Z Nation, Tommy is an amazing sniper (even with one hand, the boy is awesome!) so he could have Diego's powers, and Jess is still the angry sarcastic one, but he was the leader when they were superheroes... and Five is still missing... but turns up in a completely different way later... and omfg I like this but I don't wanna give it away...

These break my one character by fandom rule, but... lol...
Reginald Hargreaves - Caleb (The OC). Rich? Not at all nurturing to his kids? Kind of a dick? Check on all counts... I can see Caleb using innocent kids for his own agenda (I know that, at least as of Ep7 of UA, it seems Hargreaves actually had a reason for it, but...)
Villain (not based directly on a UA villain) - Murphy (Z Nation), specifically how he was during the Murphy Town storyline, mind controlling people, especially Tommy, into doing things they don't want to...
Maybe Neil Roberts (The OC) worked for Caleb patching up the kids when missions went wrong, and nowadays Summer (The OC) does the same if a sibling gets hurt? And she and Jess are sort of a couple, but they argue a lot too (so she's sort of Detective Patch...)?
Maybe Sandy filling the Pogo role as the one who was actually paternal towards the kids?
Ooh! Kirsten as Caleb's biological daughter who was something of a maternal figure to the kids when they were... well... kids? (so sort of UA's Grace/Mom?) with a side of Kirsten/Sandy secretly being in love...
As a secondary villain... maybe instead of the Commission handling time travel, they somehow handle people cheating death, and Ryan sticking around for so long after his death is fucking with the order of things from their point of view... and Julie is The Handler... with her earlier season personality, of course, where she will destroy anyone who gets in her way...
I am really liking this idea now... and the twists on the UA storyline... really liking it... don't know if it'll get written, but... I'm liking it....
