Oh how I love Southland...

Ben has Angsty Backstory! More Angsty than my little ficlet last night gave him! YAY! lol...

Expect dark Ben fic relatively soon... very dark... because he skimped on details...

God I love Ben Sherman... like almost as much as Ryan Atwood... and omfg... total idea... hmmm...

No real reason for the icon, except it's brand new and since I haven't made a Southland icon yet (or found good ones up for grabs), I'm using it... lol

Cooper was, as usual, giving Ben a hard time. So Ben tells him why he became a cop.

When Ben was 10 years old his father, a jackass of a defense attorney for scumbags, represented a drug dealer, who ended up going to jail. The dealer's brother came after Ben's dad at their home, but good old dad had already left Ben and his mom, so they were the only ones home when the guy showed up.

Ben explained that afterwards, the dad of a friend thought it would be good for Ben to learn how to defend himself, and made sure he learned, including taking him to the Beverly Hills Gun Club to learn to shoot.

Ben didn't give details on what happened, and later, when the female cop asked him where he was when the guys broke in, Ben changed the subject rather than tell her, so that makes me think that, until they tell us otherwise, he witnessed something pretty bad.


Oh! Also! Did anyone else who saw it catch vibes between Ben and the female cop (I'm tired, long day, can't remember her name... lol)? Like maybe she sorta likes him and he sort of likes her? Maybe I'm just such a Fandom Romantic at heart (despite being a cynic about Real Life Love... lol) that I'm imagining things... lol

That was a really good episode, and the motorcycle made me die !!
If someone could explain Ben history because I can't seem to get it, I can't understand everything they say I need subtitles but I'm dying to understand what the heck did Ben's dad ?!

Thanks for the summary, I'm relieved I understood overall the same, I just thought I skipped some things because I didn't know the details either lol.
Oh and by the way, I totally felt the vibe too ! It was really cute, she was hitting on him but he didn't felt comfortable either. I was like wondering if they were gonna go both on the bicycle :D
