Just my own opinion of shows i loved and think ended far too soon.
Space Cases
Length: 2 Seasons
A Teen SciFi show that stared Jewel Staite (Higher Ground, Firefly, Stargate:Atlantis), Rebecca Herbst (General Hospital), Kristian Ayre (The New Ghost Writer Mysteries, Voyage Of The Beagle), and Walter Emanuel Jones (Power Rangers) and had recurring guest appearances by George Takei (Star Trek, Heroes), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), and Bill Mumy (Lost In Space, Babylon 5). A group fo kids, misfits who always get in trouble, end up on a strange alien ship with two teachers and get hurled into unknown space. It was funny, and clever, and at times completely ridiculous, but I adored it. It ended before they ever got home, and Catalina was trapped in another dimension, while Suzee, who belonged in the other dimension was trapped in 'ours', and there was no resolution.

Third Watch
Length: 6 Seasons (But Still Not Enough!)
Oh Bosco, Faith, Brendan, Carlos, Sully! I loved them all so much! TW was about the 55th precinct in New York City, the cops, the firefighters, and the paramedics. Bosco was my favorite, even though he was quite often a complete idiot. He had a year from hell once where his brother was murdered, his mom was injured when a car crashed into the funeral home during his brother's funeral, and then he himself was shot at the hospital while waiting on word about his mom. He spent a LONG time recovering, but ended up back at work by the end of the series. He also had a really tought time after 9/11, since one of the planes flew very closely overhead of the apartment building he was in at the time. TW, at least, had a good ending that told us what happened to everybody.
Clips:
Bosco Gets Shot
Bosco Has A Panic Attack
Bosco Breaks Down In Faith's Arms
John Doe
Length: 1 Season
A man wakes up naked on an island, completely colorblind (he sees in black and whtie except for the occasional important thign which appears in color), and with no memories at all. But he soon realizes that he may not have memories, but he knows pretty much everything. It stared Dominic Purcell (now of Prison Break) as the title character, and Sprague Grayden (later of Jericho) as one of his sidekicks. It aired the same year that Firefly did, and ended with a huge cliffhanger of John seeing the face of a bad guy and it being the face of one of his closest friends. According to a later article in TV Guide, the bad guy was actually wearing a mask to look like John's friend, but still... we never got any real answers on screen about who and what John was.

Length: 1 Season
I've talked about this one before. Starring Hayden Christensen (Star Wars), AJ Cook (Criminal Minds), Jewel State (Space Cases, Firefly, Stargate: Atlantis), Meghan Ory (Dark Angel, Vampire High), and Joe Lando (Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman). The show followed a group fo kids, and their teachers/counselors, at a mountain school for troubled kids. Shelby (AJ Cook) had been sexually absued by her stepfather and prostituted herself. Scott (Hayden Christensen) turned to drugs after his young stepmother repeatedly manipulated him into sex. Daisy (Jewel Staite) was physically abused by her father until she took a golf club to his head. Juliet (Meghan ory) suffered from eating disorders and self injury in response to ebign constantly ignore dby her mother. The kids all had serious issues, but could be counted on to help eachother when it came down to it. Scott/Shelby were amazing, because they were both so wounded sexually, and that allowed them to have a relationship that was basically sex-free, since all they really did was kiss and cuddle, even if Shelby did initially try to seduce Scott. I( really liked the show, and I still wish it hadn't been cancelled, because allt eh kids still had so far to go.

Date: 2008-11-09 06:02 pm (UTC)I remember John Doe vaguely, Dominic mostly. We watched it sometimes. Because of these shows I'm always reminded that The O.C., for example, actually didn't do so bad...
