missmara13If you could give Doctor Who a new companion from ANY other fandom, who would it be? I have my own short list:
Ryan Atwood (The OC) - Ryan would totally be the straight man to the Doctor's antics, and I could see him picking up on the special brand of Dr. Who techno-babble pretty quick. Plus, I cna imagine Ryan getting completely exasperated with the doctor at times and telling him to cut the bullshit. Alternatively, I can see Ryan eventually getting a juob at Torchwood, maybe taking over Tosh's old role of working the computers and finding the data. But I imagine he'd tell Gwen off for marrying Rhys even though she lusts after Jack so much...
Dean Winchester (Supernatural) - I actually sort of see the Doctor being the one exasperated a lot of the time if Dean was his companion, because Dean is like a straight Jack! lol He'd flirt with all the hot female aliens, at leats once he got it through his head that just because they might look inhuman doesn't mean they're demons... lol...
Daniel Jackson (Stargate) - Actually, I see a young Daniel, like right after he was old enough to be on his own but before he started school, travelling the universe and time with the Doctor. What if he knew that instead of 'door to the heavens' (or whatever the mistranslation in the original movie was) it was 'Stargate' because he'd MET ancients before thanks to travelling with the doctor? Oooh... what if Timelords are actually relatives of the Ancients? Instead of ascending, the Timelords just regenerated...
Zoe Carter (Eureka) - After the insanity of Eureka, life with the Doctor would be a piece of cake for Zoe! Oh! What if 'The Artifact' is actually related to the Tardis somehow? the energey fields are some how similiar...
Anyway... who would your picks be?
(FYI? I'm kinda sorta maybe working on a new Eureka!Ryan fic in honor of Season 3 of Eureka starting tomorrow night... lol)

Date: 2008-07-29 01:08 am (UTC)As for me? I think a young John Sheppard would probably work well with the 10th doctor. In between college and air force academy- enough to make him wary of authority figures and willing to take a black mark for what's right (plus it would explain his love for outer space/flying).
Rory Gilmore. Her babble plus the Doctor's would be epic.
Dawn Summers. Perky, already used to a life of the weird, and wanting to get out of her sister's shadow. Traveling with the last timelord in existence would do that nicely.
Hiro Nakamura. Come on, it'd be graet! Two guys who can control time, one with a TARDIS and the other internally, both of whom are high energy and love what they're doing.
