A new 'Verse!
So earlier, while killing time before work actually started, I was looking at some of my older fics and came across Superheroes... Or Something, the story that was The OC/OTH/Gilmore Girls in the universe of 'Early Edition'. Anyway, in the comments(Specficaly this comment thread) the idea of fusion between The OC and Roswell came up, then evolved into The OC/OTH and Roswell...
Anyway, I started thinking on the idea again... and I wrote somthing...
There will probably be more little snippets coming very soon (maybe even tonight...) because, while I have this great idea for a longer story in this unierse, I need to set up the relationships between the characters in this universe first...
I'm calling this universe 'Leaving Normal' because it fit so well, epecially after I came up with the tagline I used in the banner (also under the cut) and as a tribute to Roswell, since that was the title of ep4 of Roswell.

Brooke Davis didn't beleive in Aliens. It was ridiculous to think that, even if they actually existed somewhere in the cosmos, they'd chose to come to Earth of all places.
Then someone opened fire in the school hallway and she felt a bullet slam into her stomach. As the hallways emptied out, Ryan Atwood ran full tilt to her, dropping to his knees and pulling open her shirt to reveal the bloody wound.
"Look at me," Ryan said, holding her face with one hand while the other pressed on her stomach. "Please, just look at me..." he whispered.
A moment later, the pain disappeared and Brooke blinked as Ryan back away slightly. "What...?" she whispered.
"Please, don't tell anyone," Ryan asked, his voice pleading.
Brooke slowly pushed herself upright and nodded, then looked down at her bloody shirt. "How did you do that?" she asked.
Before he could reply, the police came into the school, and next thing she knew Brooke was sitting in the back of an ambulance while paramedics looked her over and everyone puzzled over the blood and the hole in her shirt, things she could find a way to explain without revealing what Ryan ahd begged her not to. She looked past their shoulders to see Ryan talking to the police, gesturing with his hands.
Finally an officer came over, smiling reassuringly. "The kid over there says he saw her turning right before the guy opened fire, and the way he described it, I think someone else's blood splattered and the bullet passed right through her shirt. You're a lucky girl," the officer told Brooke.
"I know," Brooke replied, taking a deep, steadying, breath and looking towards Ryan again, only to see he'd disappeared into the crowd of anxious students and parents.
The End... For Now...
