missmara13I'm working on my Virtual Continuation of 'The OC', titled 'Berkeley' and I have a few questions which need answers in order to continue my writing of the first episode. Questions behind the cut... spoilers up to the Series Finale of The OC...
1. What was the name of the old friend of Sandy and Kirsten's who came to visit from Berkeley? The guy who worked for the school Berkeley, and encouraged Ryan and Marissa to both apply? Actor's name would be useful to, for my own notes on guest stars.
2. Where was Taylor going back to in the series finale? I feel like an idiot that I can't remember, but... lol... It was France, right? But did they say specificly?
3. What does 'GEORGE' stand for again? lol
4. RISD is in Providence, right? Or is it somewhere else in Rhode Island?
I'm also in the middle of trying to cast some original characters for the series. There are two of them who will be recurring guest stars for about half the season, and one who's only slated to appear in the first 3 or 4 episodes. Behind the cut are brief descriptions of the characters that I'd like imput on the casting of.
1. A female professor at Berkeley. She's around the age range of Sandy and Kirsten (So around early 40's) and needs to be attractive. She'll have
2. 'Aiden Thomas' (Name May Change), Ryan's roommate. Handsome, wealthy, arrogant. In some ways, a lot like Luke during the early episodes of The OC. Aiden's very good at playing the 'nice guy', though.
3. 'Sarah Mitchell' (Name May Change), Aiden's girlfriend. Pretty, sweet, not wealthy but definitely not a social climber type. She and Ryan get to be friends relatively quickly.
So, obviously, 'Berkeley' is still on, it's getting written. I'm planning on a mid-October premiere date, so that the Thanksgiving and Chrismukkah eps match up with the actual holidays... lol

Oh! One non-spoiler-y question, though it's ABOUT spoilers:
As it gets closer to the premiere date, do you guys want me to post little promos? Like with snippets of scenes from the first few episodes?

Ooh... Vanessa Williams is such a possibility... lol... and Ryan Hanson totally makes me grin because I know I can get some clips of him from Veronica Mars to use if I wanna make any promo vids... lol... to me that tends to be an important factor... lol

Date: 2007-04-11 12:52 am (UTC)During season four's Chrismukkah episode I commented somewhere that I've had enough of this holiday because each season one episode was more or less "wasted" on that. I hope you'll break free of that a little bit.
I'm also very intrigued by your ideas of two original characters. There's the "good woman friend" whose boyfriend is also Ryan's roommate - wonder how that will work. The early season one Luke-alike (sorry, bad pun) sounds to me like someone who'd get irrationally jealous over some friendship.
A big honkin' YES-yes-YES-yes to your question about teasers/sneak-peaks. But choose wisely because you don't want to spoil us too much by revealing the first several episodes. Personally, I like to know some spoilers yet be confused enough to keep guessing :D

Date: 2007-04-11 01:05 am (UTC)1) Stacy Haiduk, because as great actresses like Couretney Cox would be, they're also too agressive for my taste. Then again your description "She'll have..." was cut off so maybe that fits right into your needs.
2) Ryan Phillippe is the ultimative arrogant rich boy, because who hasn't seen Cruel Intentions? He's probably too old now to play a guy about 20 but 5-8 years ago he'd have been my only person to think after your descriptions.
3) target="_blank">Michelle Trachtenberg a little bit of a Kaitlyn Cooper look-alike. Maybe too much for this character of yours?

Date: 2007-04-11 02:21 am (UTC)While Chrismukkah will be the backdrop, the episode will very much be continuing the storylines... the main thing it being Chrismukkah does is that it brings a lot of people together that otherwise would be out of town...
lol... I can't tell you much about what happens with the Ryan/Sarah/Aiden thing, but there will be some anger on Aiden's part because of something Ryan does out of friendship for Sarah... lol
I don't plan on revealing too much about what's to come, just little scenes that give a vague idea of who the new characters are and tease about the storylines... no big secrets revealed... but like how the early promos for Season 2 of The OC showed the scene of Marissa's tantrum by the pool, and the Season 4 early promos showed Ryan in the backroom by the sink and ignoring the phone call... stuff that intrigues withyout giving away too much...
Stacy Haiduk makes me squee... lol... I've LOVED her since she played Lt. Commander Katie Hitchcock on the first season of SeaQuest... I'm not sure if I see her in the role of the professor, though... and I have NO idea where the 'she'll have' came from... I probably meant to say she'll have scenes with Ryan and Sandy for sure... lol
lol... Yeah, several years ago he would have topped my list, too... now he's just a bit too old looking for the role (Still hot though... lol)
I love Michelle Trachtenberg, but yeah, not quite right... but actually you mentioning her did give me an idea...
I think I'm gonna have to go with an old favorite format of mine for casting roles: I make an html page that has pics of the possibles, and sometimes info on how the character might vary slightly depending on who plays them... because the portrayer can totally change a character, even fi the dialogue is exactly the same... imagine if Adam Brody had gotten the role of Ryan (I read somewhere that he auditioned for Ryan... lol)... even if allt he dialogue and all the scenes were identical in terms of script, the portrayal would have been different, there wouldn't have been quite the same vulnerbility as Ben McKenzie was able to portray...
Anyway, I've rambled enough now... lol

Date: 2007-04-11 02:44 am (UTC)Yes I know Stacy Haiduk from her seaQuest appearance also, not to mention her lead cast in "A perfect stranger" I've watched recently (I so loved Robert Urich when he was still young enough to be hot :D).
There's always Rachael Leigh Cook for Sarah, she's one of very few female teen-actors that I can stomach because most don't appeal to me despite their roles.

3)Bethany Joy Galeotti, and who better to play James girlfriend then Joy, I love her as an actress, and I totally would love seeing her and Ryan interact, and the description reminded me of Haley first season, how she's not as rich as Nathan but she's totally sweet
