I know, you hate Trey... I love him, though (except for, as I've mentioned, what they did with him and "M"... totally destroyed Ryan's relationship with the one family member who seemed to ever try to take care of Ryan, even if he sucked at it...) so he keeps popping up in my fics...
I just try to write their relationship as I feel it should have, and could have without "M" interfering, been written... I firmly believe that, even in Canon, Trey loves Ryan, he's just not good at expressing it and doing right by Ryan... my Trey finds his own way to express it, such as, in this chapter, telling him that it's okay to give up leadership and let someone else do it, but it's also okay to stay in charge, and that no matter what Ryan chooses, he'll be there and support the decision...
