I don't know if this is gonna go anywhere, but I just wrote it after watching today's GH. Liz talking a little about how she had to come to accept Lucky's 'death' back in 1999 in her own time and in her own way, inspired it. At first my thought was 'What must have been going through her head when Lucky was inside the burning hotel?' I mean, he was the love of her life until the fire in the bikeshop. And it's obvious she still cares about him. So how must she be feelign about him being in a burning building? So I thought I'd write that.

Then it just morphed into something else entirely. The following is in 3 povs of the exact same moment. First Ric, then Liz, then finally Lucky. It's VERY LL2 slanted, Ric is very much protrayed negatively, and be forewarned this may be it for this, despite seemingly leading things. I MAY write more, but I may not. If anyone would like to see more of this, let me know.

There were two threats to Ric Lansing's happiness with Elizabeth, and their names were Zander and Lucky. Zander had already been removed from the equation, thanks to the explosion in his basement hiding place. But Lucky was still very much a threat, a fact that was all too obvious by the way that Elizabeth asked about her friends inside, by the catch in her voice as she said Lucky's name. She still loved the police officer, even now. And Ric had to find a way to fix that.

But before he could go back to his wife's side from talking to the firefighters, he saw the hated figure of Lucky stumbling out of the front of the hotel. He watched Lucky scan the crowd, then fix his gaze on Elizabeth, saying something too quiet for Ric to hear. But he had a pretty good idea what it was.

Ric's gaze instantly snapped to his wife, who stood with her back to the hotel. Then Elizabeth turned and saw Lucky, her hands flying to her mouth as her eyes lit up with joy. "Lucky!" she yelled, pushing through the crowd to hug Lucky tightly. Ric grimaced as he saw Lucky return the embrace, whispering something in Elizabeth's ear. And then the other man raised his gaze to look at Ric.

Yes, something had to be done about Lucky Spencer.

Elizabeth Webber-Lansing loved her husband, she honestly did. But right now all she could really think of was that her friends were inside the burning hotel. Or, more accurately, all she could think of was that Lucky was inside. Her Lucky was inside the flames, maybe hurt or dying. She couldn't lose him again, not to a fire. She looked up at the flame engulfed hotel, and had to turn away, the memory of the night she saw the bikeshop in flames still to strong in her mind to ignore.

That night had destroyed her entirely, had led her down the path that took her to this moment. It led to her marrying a man like Ric, who didn't care about anyone but himself. A man who would do anything, even commit murder and drug his own wife, to get what he wanted. Sometimes, Elizabeth wasn't even sure Ric knew how to love anyone but himself.

Suddenly, she felt an uncontrollable urge to turn back to the flames, and as she did she saw what had to be the most wonderful sight in the world. Lucky was wlaking out of the hotel, on his own two feet. A little dirty fromt he smoke, a little tired looking, but very much alive. "Lucky!" she yelled without thinking, pushing her way to him and throwing her arms around him. "I thought... I thought the fire got you. I thought the fire would take you away again."

She felt Lucky's arms go around her, and shivered as she felt his warm breath against her ear. "Never. Nothing could take me away from you again."

Lucky Spencer coughed as he tried to see through the smoke to the door. It had taken him awhile, but he had made it to the ground floor, made it to safety. The smoke was so thick he couldn't see, and his lungs burned, but just as he thought he wouldn't find a way out, he felt a hand grip his arm and a small oxygen mask cover his mouth. He looked up and saw a firefighter was guding him towards the door, and the nearer they got the fresher the air became.

Finally, he stepped outside, taking a deep refreshing breath. Outside was choas, family and friends of victims milling around, firefighters trying to recover from the heavy smoke, Police tryignt o control the crowd, Paramedics rushing around to help the victims who were guided out and the rescue workers themselves. And then, he saw her standing on the other side of a barrier, her back to him.

"Elizabeth," he whispered. And miraculously, she turned and there was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen, Elizabeth's happy eyes.

"Lucky!" she yelled, pushing her way through to him and throwing her arms around him. "I thought... I thought the fire got you. I thought the fire would take you away again."

Lucky wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight against him. He lowered his head to her ear. "Never. Nothing could take me away from you again," he whispered, feeling her shiver agaisnt him. He felt someone staring and lifted his head.

Ric was glaring at them, the rage clear on his face. Lucky lowered his gaze again, closing his eyes wearily. Tonight had been far to dangerous, far too deadly, and all he wanted was to enjoy the feel of Elizabeth's arms for a little longer.
