Humans On The Moon
10 Reasons to Put Humans Back on the Moon
As a STRONG supporter of space exploration, believe me when I say HELL YEAH we need to go back to the moon! lol Some people say 'Why go? We've already been!', but guess what? A base ont he moon would be a stepping stone to the rest of the solar system, and once there, the rest of the galaxy, and from there, the universe!
What are humans if not curious? Through out history, humans have displayed this trait. Curiousity made the early humans leave Africa and spread out. Curiosity made the Vikings sail all the way to Vineland in North America. Curiosity made us strive to go into space in the first place. SO why stop now? We need our stepping stone to see the rest of what's out there.
Earth-Like Planets Common!
Earth-Like Planets Common, Computer Simulation Suggests
So, the computer was set to create any and all possible planets. And guess what? Earth-like ones were fairly common! So cool! This gives credence to what I said above about using a base on the moon as a stepping stone to the rest of the universe. Get on it, people! lol
Life On The First Interstellar Ships
Sex and Society Aboard the First Starships
Our Grandchildren may be able to go on an interstellar journey! WooHoo! lol
There's some cool and interesting point sint eh article, but also soem things I think aren't too logical. Or maybe logical, but only if you don't take the very thing that makes us human, our HUMANITY, into account.
Landis has even suggested sending out crews consisting only of women to save on weight, replacing men with frozen sperm to insure reproduction later down the line.
Um, wha? I think this could be a guy fantasizing about a group of amazonian women getting it on in zero-g! lol Myabe not, but the simple fact is, by removing men from the crew, it removes a basic part of who we are. Life isn't entirely worth it if we don't have love, and it's unlikely they could find a whole bunch of lesbian astronauts to take this LONG (like 43 years to the closest star, NOT counting slowdown time which could take up to 100 years!) trip through space!
Only 3 things this time! lol There just weren't that many interesting thigns to be found on Space.com... blah
