Another picture inspired oneshot. And it's another happy one! And funny! A little slice of life for Ryan, Brooke, and their kids...

Family Portrait

"Come on guys!" Ryan called as he finished getting the camera set up on the porch.

"Dad!" Lily yelled, and a moment later, Robbie came sprinting out of the front door and tried to climb over the side railing as Lily followed, her expression furious.

"No killing your brother!" Brooke scolded as she followed with the youngest, Jake, in her arms.

"Who did what to who first?" Ryan asked, getting between the two older kids.

"I was on the phone with Aaron and he grabbed the extension and started making fart noises!" Lily accused.

"If he was worthy of her he wouldn't care that she has massive gas!" Robbie protested.

"You're dead!" Lily said, leaping forward.

"Kill him after the picture," Ryan instructed, guiding Lily to sit on the railing as far from Robbie as possible. "Robbie... stay over there," he added as Brooke sat down and he went back over to set the timer. "Everybody smile," he said as he hurried back to the porch bench and sat down, one hand on Lily's knee, and the other arm stretched around Brooke's shoulders to lightly touch Robbie's ankle.

"I'm thinking of ways to hurt you, Robert," Lily said with a smile.

"I'm thinking of ways to make everyone think you fart nonstop," Robbie replied.

"I'm thinking of ways to bury you both in the backyard if you mess up another portrait," Brooke said.

Ryan sighed, offering a rueful smile as the flash went off, and hoping this was the last time they'd have to make an attempt to take a portrait for at least a year. He loved his family, loved his kids, but sometimes they drove him up the wall.

"Okay, good," Brooke said.

"Now you're dog food," Lily told Robbie, who jumped off the railing into the bushes and scrambled around the side of the house as Lily took off after him.

Ryna looked over at a giggling Jake in Brooke's lap. "If you wanna wait a couple more years to start talking, I'm totally cool with that," he told his son, smiling as Brooke threw her head back, laughing. "What? When they start talking, they start fighting," he said.
