Sheppard almost made my list, too... but then I got caught up in the idea of the Doctor showing up on Atlantis and Sheppard being kinda desperate to keep his misadventures during the companion days quiet because if McKay calls him 'Kirk' now... woo! lol
In counter to your suggestion of Rory... Jess Mariano! Jess would think the doctor was a lunatic at first, and the snark would be EPIC! lol
