Fic Rambling...
Nov. 8th, 2011 02:57 pmI am indeed working on a majorly AU fic that puts characters from various fandoms into the world of 'Terra Nova'... and I kidna sorta love it entirely! The story centers around the Cohens+1 (although Ryan was adopted at about 10 or 11 years-old and has the last name Cohen), but there's also characters from Eureka, Supernatural, and One Tree Hill appearing... possibly some other fandoms, too, but those three for certain...
Basically I've placed the Cohen family in the position of the Shannon family on TN. In a world where people are only allowed to have two kids, Sandy and Kirsten had three and then got caught. Sandy went to prison (taking full blame to protect Kirsten), and a 'mistake' in paperwork identified Ryan as the illegal third child, rather than Sophie Rose, and Ryan was put on a work detail, basically only marginally better than slave labor and usually reserved for criminals... one guess who's responsible for THAT happening! Kirsten, Seth, and Sophie Rose wind up recruited for the Terra Nova project, and when Sandy finds out he hatches a plan to get himself and Ryan to the colony, too, no matter what it takes.... The story starts the day before the 10th pilgrimage to Terra Nova and goes from there.
I'm currently call the story 'Brave New World' after the song of the Same Title by Richard Ashcroft... and there's a decent change that I'll post at least the first bit of it before the end of the November, as well as some art for it as part of my 24 Gifts project this year... I may even post a soundtrack for it, though without much commentary (as in, mostly just the song titles/artist, maybe occasionally identifying the song as being for a specific character) to avoid giving away too much of where I plan on going with it in the longer term, just little bits of teasing about it... lol...
