I'm working on a scene in the next chapter of 'Never Again' (Ryan/Brooke, Ryan left Newport partway through junior year of high school because Sandy was drinking and abusive, now it's 7 years later and he's doing good), and I came up blank on one thing.

See, I have this idea that while Ryan prefers nice, simple, ringtones for his cellphone, Brooke keeps putting songs as ringtones, always fitting with the person they're assigned to. Like, when Paulie Montenegro calls it's a Sinatra song since the guy loves Sinatra, and when Brooke calls, it's various silly, poppy, love songs (at one point she put 'Wannabe' by the Spice Girls as the ring assigned to her, but Ryan put his foot down about that one... lol).

Anyway, in the scene I'm writing, Ryan gets a call from Trey, and I want a song that fits Trey, and is slightly mocking, but in a loving way. Ryan and Trey have a good relationship in the world of NA, and he will make an actual appearance (not just voice on phone) once I get Ryan and Brooke back to LA from Tree Hill. In NA, Ryan left Newport before Trey was released from prison, so all the Marissa crap never happened, and Trey had a chance to full get his life on track without the drama. He's a good brother to Ryan, and as far as he's concerned Brooke has been family for years.

So, I need the song to be somewhat relevant, and kinda mocking but not in a mean way.

Any ideas? I'm sort of drawing a blank, and while I'm writing the rest of the scene, I wanna go back and have that little moment of Ryan glaring about the latest Trey-ringtone, and Trey asking what the new song is because he knows Ryan deleted the last one and there's no way Brooke hasn't added a new one... lol...

Got One! Thanks [livejournal.com profile] finlee!
