Ahem... lol

So, today we got totally fed up with Hastings, the local video rental place. Once again, they hadf put movies that we had returned back on the shelf without checking them in. So we weren't going to get the credit for returning the next day WHICH WE DID, instead, if we hadn't gotten movies today, we would have been told we owed late fees.

So, we're giving up on Hastings and going back to Netflix. Which has a much huger selection to choice from, especially when it comes to TV on DVD.

And I'm looking and what do I find? Season 1 of the Showtime show 'Huff' which stars Hank Azaria (The Birdcage, Godzilla, Etc), Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds,Friends), Anton Yelchin (The New Star Trek movie, Charlie Bartlett), and Bylthe Danner (Will & Grace, Meet The Parents/Meet The Fockers, Etc).
The Netflix Summary:
After a troubled teenage patient commits suicide in front of him during a session, psychiatrist Craig 'Huff' Huffstodt (Azaria) is forced to reexamine his own existence even as he continues to help others cope with the harshness of life in this Showtime series. Can he succeed with his family -- son Byrd (Yelchin), brother Teddy (Andy Comeau), mother Izzy (Danner) and wife Beth (Brewster) -- by his side? Or in spite of them?

I've seen some episodes from the middle of the season, and LOVED them (Lara Flynn Boyle is amazing a patient who's a wee bit obsessed with Huff), so I'm happy to see it from the beginning...

Anyway, my brain suddenly kicked into gear, making me suddenly think: What if Ryan had to go to a shrink and it was Huff that the Cohens chose? Which then led to: What if the Huffstodts were Ryan's foster family instead of the Cohens?

I can see Ryan and Byrd get along (ironically, Byrd does had dark curly hair, but basically the simularities end there... Byrd actually notices that other people matter as much or more than he does... lol), and Ryan would win Beth over in a heartbeat, and I can see him both stickign up to Izzy about her mistreatment of Beth and at the same time winning over Izzy because he's a good kid... and god, if I went so far as to include Crazy Melody (Lara Flynn Boyle) and her antics, there could be plenty of drama...

So, I think after I've seen some eps of Huff again, I may just start writing this... because I think it could work... even fi, to most people, the Huffstodts might as well be original charatcers... but I guess then it'll be mroe forgivable if I get them slightly out of character... lol

Does anyone know the show? it lasted 2 seasons on Showtime, very funny but had it's moments of drama and tension...
