I figured I'd make a quick reference post for where I get my info for Black Friday.
Now, obviously, I have to tweak some stuff because BuffyVerse and Supernatural have different rules for Demons and Vampires. Overall, I've gone with the Buffy Rules in regards to those things, but (though it hasn't come up) I've kept the Supernatural thing that there are vampires out there who CHOOSE to be good and not kill people, just animals, even though they don't have souls. Werewolves... I haven't yet figured out which set of rules I'm going by (Buffy's 3 days surrounding the full moon, Supernatural's anytime of the month)... I guess I should if I'm ever gonna have Oz show up, not that I'm planning on that, but... lol
In Book Form (with links to where you can purchase it):
Buffy Roleplaying Core Rulebook - I check this out from the library sometimes, and it helps figure out just how MUCH stronger vampires are than the average human and than the Slayers... lol... is also has some notes on spells and stuff that are interesting.
The Supernatural Book of Monsters, Spirits, Demons, and Ghouls - I own this one, and it ROCKS! It's written in alternating POV of Sam and Dean (And you can pretty much tell at a glance what is 'written' by each brother... lol) and it's a GREAT reference for stuff they've dealt with and stuff they haven't but are still cool.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - This is a additional guide/dame for a totally unrelated RPG, but it has some interesting little tidbits that may or may not be worked in. I believe that this is the one I own, but if not it's at least very similiar (cover is identical... description sounds right)... I'm nto at home so I can't check to be sure... BUT, it's a great little source for some bits of flavor to add in. Black Friday is already such a convaluted universe that adding in some unrelated lore can't really hurt it... and I've already gotta adjsut
And now for the online references:
Buffyverse Wikipedia Page and The Buffy Wikia - While neither are garunteed to be correct in their information, it still gives some nice info on Vampires, Slayers, Watchers, and select demons. The Buffy Wikia is still a WIP, so it doesn't have as much info and often links to the Wikipedia page on the topic.
Supernatural Wiki - This one I believe is almost entirely restricted to Canon info, so it's pretty accurate. Anything that is speculation is marked as such, and spoilers are very well contained for unaired episodes, so no worries about getting spoiled.
Okay, that was a bonus for the curious... lol... and because I'm bored as hell... lol... I've got 2 hours to kill before I need to even start THINKING about going over to my mom's office to meet her... but my brother arrives today, so... woohoo! lol
