Perfect time to introduce a character like Alex. I'm intruiged where that friendship might go- and to see how bad the Cohens whig out over him staying out all night!
I'm also intrigued by your notion of a future fic of a possible outcome of this- a future AU of an AU- that's a first for me! But if you've got an idea, by all means go with it- as you say, since it's AU, it's only one possible future of this situation.
