My idea mainly revolves around Ryan and Zoe being together when they approach the bunker and the laser gets turned on them... maybe that they had a feeling something was off anyay because Zoe tried calling her dad and she wasn't able to get through to him... and of course when the laser gets turned on them, Ryan moves to get in front of Zoe and protect her, even though it wouldn't do much good against a laser... lol...
But 'Purple Haze' and 'Once In A Life Time' could both provide an interesting retakje with Ryan in the picture... in PH I imagine that Ryan and Zoe were working on a project for school and it got late, so Ryan just stayed over, meanign he didn't get affected by the pollen... or maybe he did get affected, but it leaves him laid back and out for 'fun' instead of trying to behave, and Zoe winds up the responsible one for the day (Either way, Ryan tells Stark 'Screw you, ass" and gets away with it because of the pollen... lol) and in OIAL, Ryan and Zoe are totally still friends, and maybe he's working at Global Dynamics now, because what college could teach even half of what he could learn in the labs at GD?
