Fanvids and Fanfic and such...

Okay, I'm working on a fanvid... lol... I've made some in the past, but never really showed them to anyone... I made a great one last year that was about what if Marissa missed Trey and shot Ryan during the Season Two finale...

So, I'm working on a Ryan/Kaitlin (In a sibling type way... not romantic... lol) to the song "How's It Gonna Be" by Third Eye Blind... it's kind of AU, could be consider to fit in with a majorly AU fic idea of mine... anyway, does anyone have any idea where I might be able to find the clip from 'The Heavy Lifting' where Ryan si trying to comfort Kaitlin by saying it's not her fault Johnny died, and she replies that she knows it's not, it's Ryan's fault? I'd LOVE to have that clip in my vid... visually it would be perfect as like the final scene... lol

As I said above, I have this AU Fic idea... Kirsten didn't abort she and Jimmy's baby. That baby was born and she kept it and named him Ryan. Jimmy left her because he'd been cheating on her with Julie, and Julie was pregnant with Marissa. Kirsten raised Ryan alone, though Ryan knows that Jimmy is his father and Marissa and Kaitlin are his sisters.

I'm still working out the rest of the details, but one part of it is that Kirsten meets activist lawyer Sandy, who has a son, Seth, with the late Rebecca Bloom (That was her name, right? The old girlfriend of Sandy's that he tried to help in Season Two?) Ryan and Seth become friends, Sandy and Kirsten fall in love... Jimmy gets pissed because he may have left Kirsten years ago, but that doesn't mean she should fall in love with someone else... angst and trouble abound... lol

Ryan hates Jimmy and Marissa, because Jimmy broke his mom's heart and refuses to acknowledge Ryan as his son, and Marissa acts like he's not as good as her because Jimmy didn't want him. Ryan's ambivalent towards Julie, who at least doesn't look down her nose at him, but Ryan loves Kaitlin and vice versa, they actually get along really well and Kaitlin is more likely to go to Ryan for help or advice than to either of her parents or Marissa.

Would anyone be interested in reading this story if I wrote it?

The vid could be seen as a promo to the story... it hits on a couple of plot points I have in mind... hmmm...

I'll be posting more of 'Heavily Broken' in a couple minutes, as soon as I spellcheck...

You sound like a very busy girl Mara ;) A story where Ryan was the child of Jimmy and Kirsten? My first thought was the "and now something completely different" story, brandywine has been writing for a while (and if you haven't read that one yet, please do because she's one of the OC's greatest writers out there). Brandy's story is also one of my favourites because we're talking about a season one AU with a comparable plot yet many differing details to canon. Now your story-idea is another interesting take on that basic principle of the Kirsten/Jimmy/Ryan situation and one I would definitely like to read. Shoot me if you want, but these s1 alternative universes are probably my greatest passion ever :)

You have mentioned your liking of the Ryan/Kaitlyn friendship on several occasions and I can agree with you, the few and in between scenes they have on the show are cute and special moments. On another note, I would love to read bitchy Marissa, I would love to take a good look back to season one Julie Cooper (because we haven't seen her for so long and I seriously start missing her) and of course a Kirsten/Sandy/Seth/Ryan family in the making where Ryan is already an important part to both parents would be another new thing for you to try your hands on.

Or a long story short: I love most of your writing and while I keep putting your angsty/gory stories like "Heavily Broken" or "With A Wimper" off for later, I'd definitely get my fingers on each and every chapter of that AU immediately :D

If you knew the half of it... lol... Yeah, I LOVE Brandywine's ANFSCD, actually I love ALL of her fics...

I love AU Season 1's too... and the further AU the better quite often...

Marissa would most certainly be VERY bitchy... Ryan's like the 'poor relation' in her mind, even though, obviously Ryan is actually richer since he's Caleb's very much loved and doted on grandson... lol...

And while Ryan is confident that his family (meaning Kirsten, Caleb, and Hailey) love him, he's still got the insecurities and lowered sense of self-worth because of damn Jimmy... and yes, Julie will be the old Julie of Season One... maybe not quite so hateful towards Ryan...

Yeah, it would be something new for me to try, Ryan being important from the start will definitely be a change of pace...

LOL! I guess that's a ringing message of "WRITE IT!" lol... there will most definitely be some angst in this one, because Ryan was abandoned by Jimmy before he was even born, and Jimmy's totally gonna be an ass in this one, but not as much angst as in some of my other fics... lol

I would definitely be interested in that. I love the way you would set up the family which is something that can be believeable. As opposed to one story I read where Ryan was given up by Kirsten at birth and then she meets Sandy, gets pregnant, married and gives birth to Seth in less than six months - what a slutty, yet firtle Kirsten. Oh yeah, and Seth wasn't a premature.
