Random Snippet: The OC&Nip/Tuck

So... yeah... I can't figure out how to start the first of the two ideas I came up with last night, which of course is the one everyone wants to see... lol... but there is one little snippet of an idea that came to me...

Anyway, this is from the potential universe where Dawn was once upon a time a hot stripper/call girl and Christian Troy had sex with her and 9 months later Ryan was born, and now Christian has found out during the Oliver mess when everyone is treating Ryan like he's just the crazy jealous boyfriend...

"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Christian yelled as he spotted Sandy in the surgical waiting room. "You don't want to tell him about me because it might 'hurt him', but you let him get shot by a kid that he's spent weeks telling you, and everyone else, was crazy?"

"This isn't any of your..." Sandy began.

"He's my son!" Christian said. "And you let him get shot!"

"Now is not the time for this!" Kirsten interrupted, moving between the men. "Ryan is in surgery, and you two yelling at eachother isn't going to help him."

"You better hope he's okay," Christian said, his voice like ice.

"It's none of your business whether he is or not," Sandy replied.

"We'll see about that," Christian said. "My lawyer will be in touch."

"About what?" Kirsten asked.

"I'm not leaving my kid with someone who let him get shot," Christian replied.

end of snippet

Ahem... yeah... it's what is stuck in my mind for this universe... You guys know my obsession with Ryan getting shot by Oliver during the final showdown at the hotel... and even if Christian had been sort of reluctant to take on any kind of parent role in Ryan's life, to take on any role other than 'kinda cool guy who'll take him to strip joints for his 18th birthday', he'd lose it when Ryan got hurt because someone else had failed him as a parent...

So... yeah... that scene has kinda been stuck in my head... but I can't figure out how to start the whole thing... lol...

Personally, I think that's a fine place to start your story. To insert the background information, you can have it as Christian's thoughts as he storms off/drives off/whatever. He can be shocked at his sudden feelings of protecting his newly discovered teenage son and how he originally figured he'd just be the cool guy. But suddenly Christian realizes he wants a more active role in Ryan's life and for Ryan to know his half brothers and to know Christian would believe him if he has concerns about crazy kids.

good start keep going. also please include the nip/tuck crew matt not christian's son and some form of smack down towards marissa, she was so annoying, especially during that part of season 1 of the oc

I always thought that S/K got out of the Oliver debarcle too lightly. They didn't believe Ryan and should have been grovelling at his feet for forgiveness. I enjoyed this because it looks like Christian is going to make things difficult for them. It's a great start - keep going.

I like the scene. It seems like you've figured out when in Nip/Tuck you want the story set (and I think having the Carver at large would be great- Christian not wanting to expose his son to ANOTHER psycho is perfectly reasonable), so that's one hurdle down.

I think this has a lot of fun possibilities- I look forward to reading :D
