I need a Dark Angel/Alec Icon... lol

Okay, so... new fandom for me to write... Dark Angel... it's centered on my favorite DA character (Alec) and the secondary character being by 2nd favorite (Logan), but isn't slash (Though I suppose if you squint and tilt your head you might see it... lol)... Basically: Alec has seizures like Max, but worse thanks to Manticore's attempts to 'fix' the problem. Logan finds Alec in the midst of seizing and tries to offer some comfort. Sort of angsty, sort of fluffy... I see it as the beginning of a real friendship between the two.

Short and there. Rated... I'd say... PG because it alludes to the 'torture' the X5s went through at Manticore. Takes place Post-Season Two, so spoilers for pretty much the entire show, but mostly the last episode of the series... lol

Below Notice

You would think, with over a hundred transgenics and their enhanced hearing crammed into a couple square blocks, one of them would have heard the noise Alec was making as his body shook uncontrollably, banging into the metal cabinet in the room he'd set up as his own. But no one seemed to hear, or maybe it was just that no one cared what happened to the guy who acted like he couldn't care less about the lot of them.

As the seizures died down, for the moment at least, Alec allowed himself a single sob of pain. not physical as much as for the impact of losing control so severely. He played the goof, the guy who was wild and interested only in fun, but he still carefully controlled his world so it was the way he wanted it. The 'mess' he left things in were an exact sort of mess, the kind where he knew where to find everything he might need or want. He seemingly flirted with everyone, human and transgenic, male and female (though he did draw the line at flirting with Joshua), but he'd only go beyond flirting with people he knew he could take down if he needed to.

But this... this he couldn't control. His genes had been tinkered with just enough compared to Max's group of X5s that the tremors didn't come as often, but conversely when they did come they were worse. He'd run out or Tryptophan weeks ago, there was no milk to be found in Terminal City at the moment, and he wasn't about to go crawling (since that was all he could do in the state he was in) to Max or Logan and beg them to get him some of either. He'd wait it out, and in a few days his body would balance out naturally and he'd be fine.

Another seizure began, and again he slammed into the metal cabinet. This time, though, there was finally some sort of response as someone rapped sharply on his door.

"Alec?" Logan called. "Everything alright?"

Alec tried to respond, to yell that he was fine and to go away, to try and convince Logan he had company, but instead his head banged into the wall and his feet into the cabinet, and then the door was swinging open and Logan was staring down at him in shock and worry.

"Alec?" Logan asked, crouching down beside him.

All Alec could see from his vantage curled up on his side was the toe of Logan's right boot and the metal piece of the exoskeleton that wrapped around it. As the seizure subsided again, he gasped. "Seizures. Be fine."

"Why didn't you say something?" Logan admonished, gently gripping Alec's arms and pulling him away from the wall and cabinet. "We would have gotten you Tryptophan."

"Never last long, be fine," Alec repeated, even as another one started. He wanted to protest as Logan pulled him upright, wrapping arms firmly around Alec's chest and pinning his arms as the convulsions made him try to buck away, but Alec was too tired and just focused his gaze on Logan's feet and the exoskeleton that wrapped around the toes of his boots, waiting out the latest bought. When it finally ended, he sagged, leaning back against Logan and feeling greatful that he wasn't alone and that, apparently, Logan gave a damn.

"We'll get you Tryptophan," Logan repeated, his grip loosening slightly. "But next time you gotta tell us before it gets this bad so we can head it off."

"They... they used to strap... strap me down..." Alec gasped out, not sure why he was telling the man that. "Don't wanna... wanna be... be strapped...."

"No one will strap you down," Logan promised, one hand moving to smooth Alec's hair. "I give you my word, Alec, no one's going to hurt you."

"Gonna... gonna tell Max?"

"She should know," Logan said. "She won't think any less of you."

"Couldn't," Alec replied with a harsh laugh just as another seizure began. "Make..." he struggled to say. "Make it... make it stop..."

"We will," Logan promised, holding tight again. "I promise, we will."

The End
