24 Gifts Of 2008 - #12 - The Flying Time Travelling Blue Police Box (The OC/SGA/Doctor Who)

Takes place in the Eureka/Torchwood/SGA!Ryan universe, and officially makes Doctor Who part of the continuity of the universe, too. Rose is my favorite Companion of The Doctor's, so... yeah, I'm going AU that she's still his companion. Also, I like Dr. Weir as head of Atlantis, so... she's still there. Oh! 10th Doctor is the one I'm picturing as I write this.

Also? This is total and complete crack, referencing a fic I haven't written (yet) involving Ryan getting sidetracked during his time helping out Torchwood and going on this little adventure with The Doctor, Rose, and Jack...

"I swear, they had British accents," Cadman said as she and the rest of the team walked through the marketplace on M7G-493.

"Right, because the Brits have colonies in Pegasus. What do you think they called their spaceship? Since The Mayflower had already been done..." Lorne asked, amused. "Cadman, plenty of people out here have accents that sound familiar, you know that."

"They had British accents," Cadman insisted.

"Doctor, look at this!"

Lorne and Ryan froze and turned towards the voice, while Cadman looked smug. "Told you," she said.

"Damn," Lorne said, surprised.

"Oh no," Ryan replied, trying to turn away but not making it in time.

"Look who it is!"

Ryan groaned and turned back, accepting the hug from Rose and rolling his eyes at the Doctor's grin. "Please tell me you haven't gotten into the middle of a mess involving Sycorax or Slytheen or any of the other million and one aliens you've managed to piss off."

"No such luck, this world is boring!" The Doctor said. "But Rose likes the marketplace."

"You know them, Doc?" Lorne asked.

"Major Lorne, Lt. Cadman, Leri Ackora, meet Rose Tyler and The Doctor," Ryan said. "It's... complicated. But Rose is from England, and The Doctor isn't human, and wherever The Doctor goes, trouble follows close behind, so we should probably get out of here."

"Easier said than done," Leri said, gesturing behind The Doctor and Rose.

"Genii," Lorne said, handing going to rest on his P-90. "Alright, let's get out of here. Fast."

"You think they're still mad about us blowing a whole through their compound wall?" Cadman asked.

"I think so," Ryan replied as they were spotted and the Genii lifted their guns.

"This way," The Doctor said, grabbing Ryan's arm and pulling.

The rest of the team followed reluctantly, and when Ryan spotted the Tardis tucked into a corner in front of them, he broke into a grin. "It's a good plan," he called to the others. "Safer than trying for the gate."

The Doctor unlocked the Tardis and jumped inside, followed by the others who, except for Ryan and Rose, were shocked by the interior size.

"Hang on, it might be a bit bumpy," The Doctor said as he started the Tardis.

"We're based on Atlantis," Ryan said.

"I'll set us down in that nice Gateroom of yours, should be enough room," The Doctor said.

"How does he know about Atlantis?" Lorne asked.

"I've been there, back when the good Alterans were still in charge. Lovely people, though a bit uptight at times," The Doctor said. "They were quite insistant on wanting to keep Ryan and Jack, but I told them that they couldn't. Then I broke a few windows with the sonic screwdriver to distract them while we ran."

"You... what?" Lorne asked, looking at Ryan.

"I didn't realize it was the same place until after I was on my way, and what was I suppose to say? I travelled through time in a flying police box with a man who's immortal and his British sidekick/girlfriend?" Ryan asked. "I would have been locked up as a mental patient!"

"Probably," Cadman agreed.

There was the slightest of thumps, and The Doctor grinned again. "The Tardis likes you, Ryan. Always gives us a smoother ride when you're around."

Lorne opened the door and stepped out to find weapons aimed at them. "Long story but... a friend of Dr. Atwood's saved our asses with his... flying time travelling blue police box." As everyone else filed out, Lorne looked up at the railing, were Colonel Sheppard and Dr. Weir stood, watching them. Weir looked concerned, but Sheppard just sighed. "Sir?"

"I guess I shouldn be surprised, but..." Sheppard began.

"Johnny!" The Doctor said, his smile growing even wider. "I didn't know you would be here! Although I am a bit disappointed that you became a soldier after seeing Krellin Soldiers at work..."

"Air Force let me fly," Sheppard said, unable to help smiling.

"I'm guessing you know this man, Colonel?" Weir asked.

"I travelled with him for a while when I was 18," Sheppard said. "Sort of why I wasn't all that stunned by some of what I saw here in Pegasus. And if Dr. Atwood knows him, it explains why he wasn't, either."

"Just surprised to get the chance to travel the stars again," Ryan agreed.

"How old were you?"

"20," Ryan said. "I was helping out a friend who turned out to also be a friend of The Doctors, and I got dragged along for the ride."

"And apparently visited Atlantis when the Alterans were still around."

"That's why the City recognized you," Sheppard said. "Not just the gene."

"Yeah," Ryan said.

"Alteran and Timelord technology both like Ryan very much," The Doctor said. "The Alterans even wanted to keep him, but I had to put my foot down about that."

"They replaced the windows nicely," Rose commented. "Look better than the originals."

"You should have told us about this, Dr. Atwood," Weir said firmly.

"About the flying time travelling blue police box?" Ryan, Sheppard, and Lorne said at the same time.

"Would you have believed him?" Sheppard added. "And if I backed him up, would you have believed me?"

"I sort of thought I wouldn't run into them again, what with a whole Universe at their feet," Ryan added, shrugging. "Not like I'm still in Cardiff dealing with The Rift."

"Once a Companion to The Doctor, always a Companion to the Doctor," Rose said with a smile.

The End
